Event Story
The Texas Custom Knife Show was founded in 2018 by Mike Thomas and Guy Harris (RIP) with a shared passion for bladesmithing and a vision to create an event unlike any other in Texas. Today, Mike Thomas of Razorsharp Productions and Jacob Sewell of BraveHawk Forge proudly host the show each November in Conroe, TX.
From its early days, the Texas Custom Knife Show has been about more than just knives — it’s about community. The event brings together top custom knifemakers, including past contestants and champions from Forged in Fire®, along with vendors, collectors, and fans from across the country. It’s a weekend of skill, craftsmanship, and camaraderie.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a world-class custom knife show that connects the general public with talented bladesmiths from across Texas and beyond. We aim to showcase the artistry and precision of custom knife making through live competitions, demonstrations, and interactive experiences.
We believe in supporting and growing the bladesmithing community — giving makers the chance to share their skills, connect with others, and inspire the next generation of craftsmen.
About Operation Red Wings Foundation
The Texas Custom Knife Show proudly supports the Operation Red Wings Foundation (ORWF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families heal from invisible wounds. ORWF provides therapeutic retreats, counseling, and resources for those affected by combat trauma, including PTSD, mild traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain.
One of the highlights of our event is the Annual Charity Auction, where proceeds directly benefit ORWF. From custom blades to unique collectibles, every winning bid makes a difference in the lives of our nation’s heroes.
